Iva Jean Maddox

Iva Jean passed on August 13, 2007.  She was 57.  She was born in Portsmouth, Va. 

She attended Pensacola Jr. College, graduated from St. Mary's College, and received her master's from the University of South Carolina.

She was the first paid director of the St. Lucie County Historical Museum and was the former superintendent of same.  She was the first president of the Treasure Coast Genealogical Society, first woman to join Rotary in York, S.C., past president of the local American Assn. of University Women and treasurer of Business & Professional Women, and a member of many clubs and organizations.

Survivors include her parents, Ivan and Willie Jean Maddox od Ft. Pierce and sister, Agnes Maddox of Niceville.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Whit and Annie Mae Bevis and Wallace and Bessie Maddox.

SERVICES: Visitation 2PM to 3PM Aug. 16. at Yates Funeral Home Ft. Pierce with service to follow.  A graveside service is scheduled for 4PM, Aug. 18 at Bascom Methodist Cemetery in Bascom.
