John Steven Black, 63, died June 23, 2013 in Fort Pierce. He was born in Fort Pierce and was a lifelong resident.  Before retirement, he was a mechanic at Rivergold Citrus for 28 years.  He was an Army veteran and earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.  He was a 1968 graduate of Dan McCarty High School.  Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Smith of Fort Pierce; son Brian Smith of Port St. Lucie; brothers Wayne & Robert; sisters, Janice, Connie, Rebecca, & Mona and two grandchildren.
