Kathy died in November 1976 of an undiagnosed brain tumor, which was determined after her death to be the cause of the seizures she had experienced. Her husband Gary later remarried; he and his second wife named their first daughter Kathleen.
Kathy was a sweetheart. ALWAYS upbeat. She was pretty, smart, kind, and caring. She was the All American girl. I remember going out with her once, (very platonic), and playing flashlight tag over at the amphitheater. I certainly would have liked to be more than a friend, but she was Gary's girl, and I couldn't compete with an upper classman. Especially one that was a better saxophone player than me. I'll ALWAYS remember her fondly.
Kathy was a dear friend, and I was stunned when she passed away so young. Always with a laugh, and we spent some nights worrying about our bad "boyfriends" together.
