I joined the Air Force in 1968 where I entered the communications electronics career field.
I met Satoko (Toko) while stationed in Japan in 1972. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary February 7, 2023.
I retired form the air force in 1989 as a Senior Master Sergeant. It was a great period in our lives. We lived in Azores, Japan, Germany and Italy while I was on active duty.
Retired as Director Distribution Facilities, Public Broadcasting Service September 4, 2016
I joined a government contracting firm doing engineering work in south and central America for a year and half before joining PBS in 1990. I am still employed by PBS as their Director of Distribution Facilities. I manage the support contracts and support the PBS television network program distribution facilities in the National Capital Area. PBS distributes programming to more than 350 local public Television stations nation wide.
Toko and I stay physically active with hiking and mountain biking. I also enjoy fishing and amateur radio. I am a volunteer FCC license examiner and very much enjoy helping young people develop an interest in electronics. I assist them in learning about and planning for academic programs which will seed our next generation of Broadcast and Satellite engineers.
Toko and I love to travel. We recently vacationed in Kyushu, Japan.
I've often wondered about my class mates and wished that I knew how your lives were progressing.
I'm thankful to be blessed with a wonderful wife, two beautiful daughters, two great son-in-laws and two gorgeous grand daughters (twins) and two energetic and rambunctious grand sons.
For me, life is wonderful, still filled with magic and opportunities and future adventures.
I express my best wishes to all of my class mates from the school of the Flying Eagles, 1968.

We visited my Uncle Victor Thompson at Quantico National Cemetery this Memorial Day 2016. Uncle Vic was a civil engineer with the US Army during WW2. He was decorated for his service during the Ardennes Campaign, also known as the Battle of the Bulge. Uncle Vic was the Chief Jailer with the St. Loucie County Sheriff's Department back when we were in High School together. He was also the former Chief of Police in El Derado Kansas where this photo was taken. He met and married my aunt Mamie, a police department dispatcher. They moved to Ft. Pierce in 1964. Uncle Vic and Aunt Mamie have no children to remember them. I and my family serve that roll. We honor Uncle Vic for his service. Uncle Vic passed away in August 1998 at age 72.
Some more photos of our visit to Miyazaki, Japan. The meal is of cold noodles that taste great on a hot summer day. You dip them in the sauce bowl when eating. The coastline is rugged but beautiful, The rocks behind us in the 5th photo are called the Devil's Washboard. This rock formation sure does look like an old fashioned washboard, doesn't it?
